For our summer seasonal we’ve revived the California common: a classic American style that drinks like a pilsner but tastes like an IPA. Dodo is a tribute to two beers that launched the US craft beer revolution: Anchor Brewery’s Steam Beer and Liberty Ale. The combination of lager yeast and caramel malts is inspired by Steam Beer, while the use of Cascade hops pays homage to Liberty Ale – the first beer to showcase the grapefruit and citrus flavours that would change the way hops were used forever. Dodo is hopped to the same levels as these iconic beers – enough for you to appreciate the hops, but not be overwhelmed by them.
