Barrel aged version of the Zwaan&Beek Imperial Stout. This beer is matured for 14 months in a 400 liter Calvados barrel that after the Calvados also contained BEEK Dutch Blend Whisky for 17 months. This gives loads of character to this Imperial Stout. Clear barrel influences with both spirits fighting for attention, the fruitiness of the Calvados and the oak character of the whisky. Pitch black. Aromas of chocolate, coffe, licorice, malt, oak and fruit. In taste powerfull with malt, coffee, cocoa, fruit, whisky and oak. The aftertaste lingers on with fruit submerging from coffee and cocoa.
